About The Artist

Inspiration is all around me and feeds the creativity within me

A new canvas, the smell of oil paint, a palette knife in my hand – I love to paint, to create something with meaning to me but then to pass it on with a new life to another.  Paint – the colour, the texture, the way it moves across the canvas – a limited palette with infinite possibilities.  A dash of red amongst soft pastels, light and dark marks of the knife.  The Subject – sea, sky, a face, a movement, stark buildings, fluid water, an image forming in the viewers perception.  “Art is not what you see but what you make others see.” (Edgar Degas)

The joy of creating has always been a part of who I am.  As well as producing my own artwork, I run social art events and workshops with my business TippleART,  to spread this joy to others and help to unlock their creative heart. “Every child is an artist.  The problem is how to remain an artist when he is grows up.” (Pablo Picasso).  For more information email me wendy@wendyrichardsart.co.uk

I live in a corner of Hampshire with my lovely husband Tony and the comings and goings of our four children with lots of cats and chickens, two alpacas and a bouncy puppy.  My studio looks out onto a wildflower meadow.  Inspiration is all around.
